Heat pumps could be about 40% more efficient when you compare them to gas furnaces if the temperatures are above freezing. Keep in mind that heating air in any space would require quite a lot of energy. With this in mind, gas furnaces are actually known to heat the air physically using a flame. Heat pumps, on the other hand, simply relocate and transition the warmth from the outdoors to the indoors, hence being a lot more efficient in the process.

Heat pumps would come in a range of different sizes which are actually measured in tonnage. In order to size a pump properly, home and business owners are required to fill out a heat load calculation. The truth is that this is quite complicated and, as such, it is best done by a HVAC professional. This is going to ensure that they handle it properly and that there are no issues with your sizing. This could save you quite a lot of headache when it comes to it. Improper size of the HVAC can lead to higher power utility bills which can be drain on your finances. Thus, you will need to consider all of these aspects when you consider the size of the unit.
